Privacy Policy
- There is no account and no sign-up. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your countdowns and the photos you choose stay on your phone. We never upload them.
- The app shows ads from Google AdMob and uses Google Firebase for anonymous usage statistics and crash reports. These Google services collect some device data, as described below.
- The app never asks for your contacts, calls, calendar, files or location.
1. Who we are
This policy covers the Android app "Days Until Widget & Countdown" (shown on your phone as "Days Until"), called "the app" below. "We" and "us" mean the developer of the app as listed on Google Play. You can contact us at the email address in section 11.
2. Information that stays on your device
The app stores the following only in its private storage on your phone. We cannot see it, and it is never sent to us or to anyone else:
- Your countdowns: title, date and time, repeat setting, reminder setting and the look you picked (template, colour, sticker, font).
- Photos you choose as a countdown background. You pick them with Android's Photo Picker, which gives the app only the photos you select, never your whole gallery. The app saves a resized copy for the widget and deletes it when you remove the photo or the countdown.
- Settings and purchase status, such as whether you have unlocked Pro.
If Android backup is turned on for your Google account, Android may include this data in your own device backup so it can be restored on a new phone. That backup is handled by Google under your Google account settings, and we have no access to it.
Uninstalling the app deletes all of this data from your phone.
3. Permissions
- Notifications (Android 13 and later): asked only when you turn on an event-day reminder. Used only to show that reminder.
- Run at startup: lets the widget keep refreshing at midnight and keep your reminders after the phone restarts.
- Internet and network state: needed to load ads, the consent form, purchases and the Firebase services below.
- Advertising ID: used by Google AdMob and Firebase as described in section 4.
- Google Play billing: lets you buy Pro through Google Play.
The app does not request access to your photo library, contacts, calendar, phone, microphone, camera or location.
4. Third-party services that collect data
The app uses the following Google services. They collect data directly from your device under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your data.

We never put your countdown titles, photos or any other personal content into analytics or crash reports. Analytics events only describe categories (for example "a birthday template was picked"), never what you typed.

5. Ads and your choices
The app shows a banner ad on some screens, an occasional full-screen ad after you finish a task, and a video ad only when you tap to watch one in exchange for a reward. Ads never appear in the home screen widget or in notifications. Buying Pro removes ads.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, or in a region with similar laws, the app shows Google's consent form before any personalised ads or analytics storage are used. You can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy options. Until you consent, analytics runs without storing identifiers on your device.
You can also reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your phone's settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads depending on your phone).
6. How long data is kept
- Data on your device: until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.
- Google Analytics data: kept for the retention period set in our Analytics settings (at most 14 months), then deleted automatically.
- Crashlytics crash reports: kept for 90 days.
- Data collected by AdMob and Google Play: kept according to Google's policies.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. Because the app has no account, we do not hold any data that can identify you by name. The data held by Google's services is linked only to device identifiers. To make a request, contact us (section 11) and we will help you as far as we can, including asking Google to delete analytics data linked to your app instance ID. You can also reset your advertising ID at any time, which unlinks past advertising data from your device.
We do not sell or share personal information for money. Where local law treats personalised advertising as "sharing", you can opt out using the privacy options and phone settings in section 5.
8. Legal basis (EEA and UK)
We rely on your consent for personalised ads and for analytics that store identifiers on your device, on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and fixing crashes, and on the performance of a contract when you buy Pro.
9. Children
The app is intended for users aged 13 and over and is not designed for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app and data was collected, contact us and we will help remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
